The Internet in general will bolster your misanthropy to epic levels, but nothing may outdo NextDoor for causing you to abandon all hope for humanity. Amidst a sea of advertisements, missing cat notifications, and thinly-veiled promotional posts, there’s also the odd report of lost squirrel sightings and conspiracy theories about ‘smart’ meters. Yet, in this maelstrom of triviality, serious issues do surface.

Someone had posted that their child was being bullied at a local high school. They suggested relocating them to another school. Several others chimed in that problems were endemic at that particular HS.

My child is being bullied at Libertyville High School. I’m thinking of moving them to another school. Has anyone else experienced this?

Libertyville High School had devolved into a hotbed of bullying and harassment. Administrators are unwilling to acknowledge this, much less address it in any way. Wait for Open enrollment, get them out of there. This is how most of us are responding.

Open enrollment is a great option, but you hear about this more and more. The sad thing about moving schools most likely that wont change the outcome. Some kids will just be picked on until they change the certain aspect the kids want to pick on. I don’t know if this is true or not but I heard there is a fury at summer ridge, so in that instance the kid will and probably should be picked on no matter what school they attended. Different subject but thought I would share, another issue is the activism teachers are projecting on students. I have attached a picture of a poster in a local HS classroom.

Wiener’s post, blending hearsay with personal conjecture, sparked further debate. His assertion that some forms of bullying might be justified, conspiracies about schools providing litterboxes to students who identify as “Furries” is a clear call to his fellow idiots that he is one of them. The whole furries in schools is built on a baseless conspiracy theory: How an urban myth about litter boxes in schools became a GOP talking point

His misguided criticism of the “Welcome to the Party” poster that he is sure is representing supposed teacher activism in schools is something that is clearly parody and in no way pro-communist.

I’ve yet to encounter a bully who wasn’t convinced they were doing great work for the community by “critiquing” the behaviors of others.

So I felt that getting involved in the, “discussion” was required.

So, the Furry thing is not at all what I expected. However, I’ve combined my two newfound passions into the Wombat Valley Communist Furry Club. I’ve got this really adorable plush teddy bear outfit in a Stalin uniform, which really accentuates my hunches BTW. I met up with another, “fellow traveler”. The yiffing was not as adorable as it sounded at first and I’m still coughing up Chairman Meow furballs. However, I’ve been fully indoctrinated, so I’m not just quitting.

Matt Wiener I’m so sorry. I misread your post. You clearly typed, “fury” not “furry”. I tried to return my Stalin-Bear outfit, but they said they won’t take back any, “soiled” items. There was a documentary about a Fury in a High School. It turned out very bad for everyone. I now fully understand your concern.
